INSTALLATION GUIDELINES :
• ITR® insulation is an effective solution for thermal and/or acoustic protection in building regulation-compliant constructions and cannot compensate for faulty building work or thermal bridging resulting from construction defects. Always maintain air space of at least 20mm on both sides of your insulation solution.
• ITR® insulation is suitable for horizontal or vertical installation and has no right side. Always allow for a minimum overlap of 50mm between strips, and lay strips in a tiled effect. Assemble using ITR® ALUDESIF® tape. Ensure that the product is turned back on itself at the edge of each section of insulation.
• When attaching ITR® insulation:
> ensure that the insulation is laid at the correct tension. > use stainless steel or galvanised staples (14 x 20mm).
• In accordance with current regulations, never leave your ITR® insulation exposed in inhabited rooms. Use the following finishes:
> BA13 plasterboard > 14mm to 18mm wood panelling > 10mm to 15mm fireproof panels
In the case of plasterboard finishes, ensure that loft spaces are adequately ventilated by leaving gaps exposed for several weeks. In every instance, consult the interior insulation guide of the building regulations authority in your country.
• Do not allow your ITR® insulation to come into contact with lead or copper, or corrosive or abrasive substances.
• Do not expose ITR® products to a naked flame or heat source produced by soldering or sparks.
• ITR® products should not be used to insulate chimney stacks, fireplace inserts or stove flue pipes. Insulation should be installed no less than 200mm from chimney stacks or low-voltage lighting and 400mm from inserts and heat recovery units.
• Never install an aluminium product in contact with a power source. Domestic dwellings must be wired in line with current standards and all power sources must be earthed.
• In the case of over-rafter or under-rafter installation, TV aerials should be mounted on the roof to avoid interference.
• Do not expose ITR® products to bad weather during installation. Do not use ITR® products as a protective outer cover.
Store away from the sun, rain and cold. During installation, do not expose the product to the sun for more than 48 hours.
• When installing ITR® products at altitudes of over 900m, refer to current building regulations.
In every instance, effective insulation relies on effective ventilation.
Always abide by building regulations relating to ventilation.
